Dragon’s Dogma 2: Capcom Reveals The Archer With Rapid-Fire Gameplay

Get ready to rain arrows of justice as Capcom just revealed the newest playable Vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2—The Archer. The nimble fighter maneuvers around the battlefield, blasting foes with lightning-fast bow skills, both up close and at a distance. This arsenal also incorporates a melee kick that packs a punch and sends enemies flying.

But things don’t stop there. The Archer can imbue their arrows with what appear to be element and ailment-based effects, stunning and knocking down enemies with ease. The preview also showcases a devastating ultimate attack which evens the odds by presumably locking you into a prolonged charge animation.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is one of the most anticipated games of this year. After all, it’s been over a decade since the first game, and fans have been clamoring for a sequel. Director Hideaki Itsuno originally wanted to make it right away, but circumstances held him back.

Itsuno dropped a surprise for fans on X (formerly Twitter) yesterday, stating that Dragon’s Dogma 2 will launch with uncapped framerates. Now, this did raise some eyebrows because the tweet’s Japanese version translates to “variable,” leading to different interpretations. Previous rumors indicated that the game will support up to 30 FPS on consoles so it’s hard to say anything concrete just yet.


One thing’s for sure: Capcom’s marketing machine is in high gear. They’ve unveiled two other exciting classes this week, and bold claims like “fast travel is for bland games” have everyone buzzing. Can this fantasy JRPG live up to the hype? We’ll find out when it launches on March 22nd for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
