Helldivers 2: Over 60% Of Its European Sales Have Been On PC, Insider Claims

Story Round-Up

  • Christopher Dring, GamesIndustry Head, states that Helldivers 2 sold over 60% of its copies in Europe on PC.
  • The game performed 2.5x times better than Skull and Bones in second place. This data is reflective of last week.
  • Arrowhead’s latest project has surpassed the all-time peaks of Destiny 2 and Starfield on Steam.

GamesIndustry head, Christopher Dring, claimed that Helldivers 2 managed to sell over 60% of its units on PC thus far. In a tweet on X (formerly known as Twitter), Dring explained that Arrowhead’s latest project was “comfortably” the best-selling game of last week across Europe.

Furthermore, Helldivers 2 sold almost 2.5 times more than the second-place title—Skull and Bones. Despite saying that the former did “only slightly” better on PC, it apparently managed to sell the lion’s share of its units on the platform.

It’s worth noting that this data only includes the region of Europe. While the US is not included in these “figures,” Dring states that they have access to European and Australian data in addition to “a few others.”

This gargantuan advantage in sales numbers serves as a testament to the success of this co-op shooter experience despite competition from Skull and Bones. Ubisoft has deemed its seafaring project as “AAAA,” attempting to justify its price tag in light of its quality.

Helldivers 2 is a peculiar project. It managed to find success despite being a live-service shooter, costs $39.99, and is contending against the big ones of this industry. It recently surpassed Destiny 2 and Starfield’s all-time peak on Steam, now relaxing at the top with the 458,000+ all-time players award.

Spending almost a decade in the oven, Helldivers 2 launched for the PlayStation 5 and PC on February 8, 2024.
