Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Crosses 1 Million Sales in Just 3 Days

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has achieved a major milestone, selling over 1 million copies just three days after launch.

The figure, reported by developer Sandfall Interactive, strictly reflects retail and digital sales, excluding players accessing the game through Xbox Game Pass. Despite being a day-one Game Pass release, Expedition 33’s standalone sales alone are impressive for a debut title.

The game sold 500,000 units on launch day, with another half a million sold over the next two days. On top of that, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has climbed high on Metacritic’s user charts, earning a 9.7 user score alongside a 9.1 critic average.

Steam data also shows the game pulling serious numbers, with an initial peak of 51,000 concurrent players on launch day, eventually surging past 98,000 peak players during its first weekend. It currently sits with an all-time peak of over 121,000 players.

For an AA project—and a studio’s first major release—the pace of Clair Obscur’s early success places it firmly among 2025’s breakout RPG hits, alongside giants like Oblivion Remastered.
